Human Resources at Riese & Müller puts people centre stage
29.04.2020
Since the start of April, the Riese & Müller Human Resources department has been restructured and will now be known as “People & Culture” to retain and develop the unique culture within the company despite its strong growth. In future, the department will focus much more on working directly with people in the company rather than traditional staff administration, which is virtually fully automated today. The new department will be the responsibility of Christine Vollmer, as Head of People & Culture, who has held a senior position in the company’s Human Resources department for over 5 years.
Riese & Müller has taken on over 300 new members of staff in recent years. Today, a total of 550 people work for the company with the common aim of achieving global market leadership in the premium E-Bike sector. The company’s strong growth has also gone hand in hand with increased diversity of work and challenges in the Human Resources department. Maintaining and developing Riese & Müller’s culture, in particular, has been taking up more and more time in the working day and so, from now on, this will be centrally managed by the People & Culture department.
“We have always had a great spirit of cooperation and flat hierarchies at Riese & Müller, which have shaped us into a successful international company with its own unique spirit. We hope that the new direction of our People & Culture department will send out a strong signal, both internally and externally, that people are at the heart of every decision we make”, explains Christine Vollmer, Head of People & Culture.
In addition to focussing on people and gender-neutral appointments to management positions, personal development also has a high priority at Riese & Müller. In recent weeks, many appointments – including many women – have been made to management positions in Production and Administration. These leaders have developed personally through special training programmes within the company and, together with their teams, will continue to strengthen Riese & Müller.
