The Packster 70 is back.
15.08.2022 | Innovations
We initiated a voluntary recall of the Cargo Bike in October 2021 due to a problem with the cable-controlled steering. We are now bringing the Packster 70 back onto the road.
The global recall of all Packster 70 bikes demonstrated Riese & Müller’s clear commitment to maximum customer safety – even though few products were affected by the problem. The Packster 70 has since undergone a complete makeover. Our engineers and quality officers focused in particular on the steering system. Oversteering is now prevented thanks to an adapted steering angle. Larger cable pulleys also ensure improved steering rigidity. Further functional details were also optimised as part of the redesign.
Felix Ströder, Head of R&D Management, explains all the technical modifications and new options on the model in a video:
» We are thrilled to be relaunching the Packster 70. Once again today, we have a product we are totally convinced of and that will thrill the many Packster 70 enthusiasts. «
Packster 70 return.
We have succeeded in configuring the improvements in such a way that all Packster 70 bikes recalled to the factory from October 2021 can return safely to the road after their conversion and makeover – as good-as-new used bikes marketed as Packster 70 return bikes. The Cargo Bikes comply with the latest safety standards and will be offered at a discount depending on their mileage (km). All Packster 70 return bikes will always be delivered with brand-new batteries from the factory.
