Safe on the road at all times
Riese & Müller is raising rider safety to a new level. You’ll be familiar with ABS from your car. And surely main beam, brake lights and daytime running lights too. The law sets out clear rules for motor vehicles. What is mandatory for those, Riese & Müller does voluntarily in its E-Bikes. The 45 km/h models as well as all 25 km/h models are equipped with daytime running lights for your safety, some with even a brake light and main beam.
Brake light.
Seeing as early as possible that the person in front of you is braking can prevent bad rear-end collisions or risky evasive manoeuvres in the event of an emergency. By riding an E-Bike that features an integrated brake light, you will be looking after yourself at the same time as ensuring greater safety for other road users in traffic. Riese & Müller has now also voluntarily carried over a mandatory feature of HS models into many of its 25 km/h models: integrating the brake light into the rear light.
Main beam
The Supernova M99 Mini Pro headlight can be seen by oncoming vehicles even in the middle of the day. However, its powerful effect really comes into its own after dark. The main beam switch lets you switch it on at the press of a button and draw other road users’ attention to yourself with a headlight flasher. This is a useful addition to what is already a very bright headlight, which does not dazzle oncoming vehicles when set up correctly. In addition, you can use the high beam to illuminate poorly visible paths far ahead and to detect any obstacles in good time.
Daytime running light
The permanently switched-on low beam is standard with Riese & Müller 45 km/h models. It increases visibility on the road and is therefore a real boon to safety. Riders of all Riese & Müller 25 km/h models also benefit from this, as, regardless of their achievable maximum speed, all E-Bikes are factory-fitted with a daytime running light across all ranges. What is more, this has no appreciable impact on the range of your E-Bike battery.
ABS
Some Homage, Delite and Superdelite models also permit integration of the new ABS system, adding another key safety component to the Control Technology already fitted.
The ABS system allows your bike to come to a safe standstill when braking abruptly without locking up the front wheel. On any surface – you brake without skidding, which ensures riding stability and prevents falls. In addition, the rear wheel is prevented from lifting off the ground, which keeps the bike from tipping over. ABS gives you the assurance of the best possible safety in precarious situations.
Safe on all roads. And parked too.
Control Technology
Maintains a deep relationship with the road.
Only an E-Bike with true full suspension consistently keeps ground contact even on poor roads – and keeps you in full control. The active rear swing arm, optimised front wheel suspension and co-sprung luggage carrier form the core of the Control Technology. They ensure better road holding and safety at high speeds and in tricky situations. When braking, the ABS system available as an option with some models ensures that the bike comes to a stop within a very short distance, on any surface and without sliding.
