The Supercharger and Packster 40 models by Riese & Müller have been presented with the Design & Innovation Award 2018. Created in 2013 it is the leading award in the bike industry. It goes far beyond the expectations of other awards. The products submitted are intensively tested, examined and discussed by an experienced team made up of experts from the Enduro, E-Mountainbike and Gran Fondo Cycling magazines. The Design & Innovation Award is the only award that targets both the consumer and the industry.

Markus Riese and Heiko Müller, Managing Directors of Riese & Müller are thrilled about the award. "This award recognises our work and we feel highly honoured that two of our models have been named best and most innovative products of 2018."

Both models were awarded in the category "Urban". The Jury was particularly impressed by the latest Riese & Müller E-Cargo bike: "The ideal cargo bike for everyone who’s ever considered a cargo bike too big, the Riese & Müller Packster 40 is a lesson in ‘less is more’ with nominal dimensions yet ample load volume". According to the experts, the Packster 40 also "handles with astonishing agility for a cargo bike".

In the case of the Supercharger, the jury emphasizes the clever integration of the Bosch PowerTube batteries in the top tube and downtube as well as the high-quality aluminium frame, whose "two-tone paint job and clean, sporty design chimes well with its technological superiority." The experts state that the awarded model "channels the typical Riese & Müller traits of elegance and brings class to every outing. One for the sophisticate, the Supercharger can be seen as a modern-day S-class amongst touring e-bikes."
