The batteries
Reliable Bosch lithium-ion batteries with an energy reserve of up to 750 Wh provide the power for many of our E-Bikes. With DualBattery Technology – the use of two batteries in parallel – we achieve a top capacity of 1,500 Wh. Depending on the E-Bike model, we install frame batteries, rack type batteries or fully frame-integrated Bosch PowerTube batteries. This approach sets standards for design and functionality.
Little power packages for big ambitions.
Whether you use one or two batteries on your E-Bike significantly influences your range and achievable climb in altitude. There are also many other decisive factors, such as the set pedal assistance, riding speed or outside temperature. When it’s stop-and-go in the city, the range is shorter than with a constant journey over a longer distance – comparable with the fuel consumption of a car. If you find while you’re on a ride that your battery’s residual power is not going to be enough to complete your journey, you can reduce the level of assistance and thus still reach your destination comfortably.
Recharge, ride, rejoice. Again and again.
The batteries are charged directly on the E-Bike or, once removed, at any standard 110/220 V wall socket. There is no need to run the battery all the way down, because it can be charged in its partially charged state without any “memory effect”. The lifespan is 800 – 1,000 charging cycles. Thanks to the short charging times, the battery can be topped up well even during a lunch break, for example. A complete charge cycle with the included Bosch standard charger takes 3 to 6 hours, depending on the battery capacity. With DualBattery Technology, both batteries can be charged individually with the charger or at the same time directly on the E-Bike.
Always in top form.
At Riese & Müller, we look for a perfect battery, matched in function and form, for every E-Bike we develop. That’s why we fit one – or more – of three high-performance Bosch batteries: the frame battery, the carrier battery or the PowerTube battery.
Thanks to the battery lock, the carrier battery remains securely on the E-Bike. To charge the battery, use your key to open the lock and simply pull the battery out towards the rear. Even two fully integrated batteries can be removed using the same key. When they are unlocked, they can be pulled a few centimetres out of the frame for ease of removal.
Our E-Bike models with DualBattery Technology use either two identical or two different Bosch battery models, resulting in different ranges, capacities and charging times. Find more information on the DualBattery page.
The Bosch range calculator
Calculate the range of your next E-Bike tour in advance online. You can enter parameters such as the rider’s weight, motor, battery or type of terrain. You can also influence the range independently of your E-Bike’s technology. Reduced pedal assistance and more muscle power from you can increase the range significantly.
