E-bike service: Get ready for the new season!
05.02.2026 | Tech & Service
The days are getting longer, and the start of the e-bike season is approaching. After the winter months, when bikes tend to be used less frequently, now is the perfect time to take a close look at yours. This is because the cold, wet weather takes its toll, even if the e-bike was only used occasionally. The pre-season is the perfect time to have your e-bike thoroughly checked and prepared for spring.
Step One: Maintenance is Key
Regular maintenance is essential for ensuring your e-bike has a long service life. Many components can be checked visually and with a few simple steps. This often allows you to identify maintenance requirements yourself at an early stage.
Step Two: Check the Battery
The battery in particular deserves special attention in winter. Very low temperatures and moisture can affect performance and service life. Therefore, it should be stored in a dry place and not be exposed to extreme cold for long periods of time. Even during longer periods of inactivity, it is advisable to keep an eye on the charge level – between 30 and 60 per cent is optimal.
Step Three: Maintenance at a specialist Dealer
A professional inspection at a specialist dealer is based precisely on these principles. Safety-related components, the drive and electronics are checked; settings are optimised; and wear parts are assessed and replaced if necessary.
By the Way: Maintenance is Sustainability in Action
Riese & Müller's e-bikes are designed to be sustainable and long-lasting. Sustainable product design (Circular Design) makes repairs and maintenance simple and reliable throughout the bike's useful life. This includes designs that facilitate repairs and detachable connections that can be opened with standard tools. Adhesive connections are avoided wherever possible to enable long-term maintenance and repair.
