All Riese & Müller E-Bikes and E-Cargo bikes are equipped with Bosch motors from the Active and Performance lines. The drives impress with absolutely no need for maintenance and are among the most reliable on the market. With pedal assistance of up to 32 km/h, and up to 45 km/h on our HS models, you can reach any destination effortlessly.
With the tremendous driving force of the Bosch motors, you can conquer any terrain and any mountain. Its aesthetically pleasing integration into the crank bearing ensures plenty of ground clearance, a low centre of gravity, directional stability and the direct transfer of force to the back wheel via a chain or belt. The riding experience provided by the mid-mounted motor most closely approximates the sensation of riding a normal bike. All Riese & Müller E-Bikes are Pedelecs and S-Pedelecs (with the HS models). The driving force is controlled using the pedals, not via an accelerator handle as on a motorbike. The harder you push on the pedals, the more the electric drive supports you. When you stop pedalling, the motor stops, and you continue to roll – just like on any normal bike.
A pushing and starting aid fitted as standard helps your E-Bike up slopes even when you’re not sitting in the saddle. The button used to make your bike push itself at 6 km/h is located on the external control unit. The maintenance-free motors have an electronic control unit with an ultra-modern 32-bit processor and sensors for power, pedal rate and speed. Thanks to 1,000 sensor measurements per second, its coordination is superb. The higher the power, the higher the torque and therefore the faster the acceleration. The standard motor supports you with additional power at a maximum speed of 32 km/h, while the Performance Speed motor on our HS models assists you at up to 45 km/h. The combination of the motors with a derailleur gear enables a greater degree of efficiency than the combination with a hub gear.
Bosch Active Cruise motor
A maximum torque of up to 50 Nm, pedal assistance of 250 % and harmonious start-up characteristics make the Bosch Active Cruise motor ideal for leisurely tours and relaxed outings. The pedal assistance for pedalling rates up to 100 rpm provides you with constant relief during your ride. And you can always feel the powerful performance of the 250-watt motor.
Bosch Active Plus motor
With pedal assistance of up to 250 %, the particularly quiet Active Plus drive is perfect for city trips, for example. With its low-profile design, it fits inconspicuously onto the frame. At only 3.2 kg, it is also the lightest Bosch motor that Riese & Müller fit on their bikes. The torque of up to 50 Nm ensures a harmonious, agile acceleration. A balanced ride feel, motor coasting and no pedal resistance at more than 32 km/h make every trip an experience.
Bosch Performance Cruise motor
Sporty dynamic start-up characteristics, 250 watts of power and a maximum drive torque of up to 63 Nm make the Performance Cruise drive a real performer. Reliable assistance up to 32 km/h and pedal assistance up to 275 % also ensure the best possible performance for active riders on any terrain.
Bosch Performance Speed motor
Assistance up to a speed of 45 km/h makes the Performance Speed drive the fastest Bosch E-Bike motor. Sporty start-up characteristics, 350 watts of power and pedal assistance up to 275 % guarantee the ultimate riding pleasure with a maximum drive torque of up to 63 Nm. For the Speed motor, you need an insurance certificate and a driving licence for small powered bikes. A driving licence for class MA (from the age of 16 upwards) or for cars includes this. Helmets are mandatory on HS models. We recommend using an E-Bike helmet that complies with the EN 1077 and EN 1078 standards.
Bosch Performance CX motor
The Performance CX is the most powerful Bosch E-Bike motor ever – with pedal assistance of up to 300 %, a maximum torque of 75 Nm, very sporty start-up characteristics and pedalling rate assistance up to 120 rpm. With “Direct Flow” you have a powerful push on the back wheel from speeds of just 20 rpm. Whether it be uphill or on the flat, this acceleration will inspire you. Another highlight in the new Performance CX motor is the eMTB mode, which replaces the previous Sport mode (this is displayed as Sport mode on the Intuvia Display). Here, the progressive motor assistance automatically adapts to the individual riding style regardless of pedal pressure. This ensures optimum assistance at all times, which really pays off on climbs.
